I read somewhere once - "Sure, money is important for a business. Like gas for a car. But when you take a road trip, you don't make it about visiting gas station to gas station." My road trip through my practice has been amazing. As much a business venture as a place to forge lifelong bonds. As much about science, as it turned out, about spiritual growth.
If you are visiting for the first time - let me introduce myself and tell you all about the story of ensodentistry.
My last name is not Enso :-)
In Zen philosophy, "the ensõ is a circle that is ‘brush-painted’ in an uninhibited stroke to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create."
The decision to name my practice after a meaningful concept rather than my own name came about because of a conversation with a particularly ‘self-important’ old boss who scoffed at another dentist for not putting his own name on the practice. And years later, when it came time to name my own practice, I decided to not only NOT name my business after my own name but in fact get as far away as I could from that idea. I decided enso was the opposite of ego because - "The ensõ symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void)."
The practice would not be about ME, but about the best care of our patients. It would be about service with humility and love. I would also not capitalize the first letter of enso. It would start with a lower case e as a reminder to keep my e - go small and my desire for growth and knowledge vast.
And we have truly embodied that spirit. From precision one visit CAD-CAM dentistry to fully digital low radiation radiography, 3D imaging, 3D scanning, digital CBCT units, precision 3D printing, Airway positive treatment planning, to the latest in No drill dentistry options including peptide therapy - we have kept our patients’ best interest front and center and we have grown and improved with each passing day!
Like the beautiful enso, one day, my life will come full circle. But till then I'm on an amazing road trip with my team.
Over the years, growth, constant learning, integrity and excellence have continued to be our mantra. With His grace, we have rarely stressed over the gas tank and come what may, we have always always enjoyed the scenery and the friends we have made along the way.
I have met some amazing people on this journey. Wonderful and dedicated team members who have stood by me for decades - helping me navigate the course. Patients that have trusted us with not just their smiles but also shared their life journeys with us.
